What she said

Here’s a line from a short (and otherwise not particularly inspiring) piece in the Nov. 2008 OAH Magazine of History by Daisy Martin, a director of CHNM’s “Historical Thinking Matters” site:

“We must create instructional tools that fit teachers’ occupational realities
without sacrificing the integrity of the discipline.”

That is much harder than it sounds. As we’ve been learning through trial and error in our TAH programs, crafting such ideal instructional tools is a complicated process, one that forces you to dig deep into your assumptions about both “teachers’ occupational realities” and “the integrity of the discipline.” Words to ponder as we move forward with figuring out the public interface of our resource database.
